4star

Ella Skye is looking for a fresh start in the town of Pleasant View—a place where she can concentrate on her career as a graphic designer. She isn’t looking for love or passion. She doesn’t need the raging flames of desire that always flicker into heartbreak. She also doesn’t need a nosey neighbor with a temperamental cat, a hot cowboy who moonlights as a fireman or a stubborn friend who insists on dragging her into awkward social situations. Ella doesn’t need any of it but, in time, she just might realize she desperately wants all of it and more.

My Review:

Cupcake Cutie is a very short book, so I realize that things have to happen fast, but to be getting married after two days, hmmm… and it’s not like a Vegas lust marriage, this is a Til Death Do Us Part marriage.

If you can look past that, and just enjoy the story for what it is, a plus size woman getting the super hot fireman/rancher then you’ll have a good time reading it.

There is a lot of potential in this story, and I would love to see Lynn Cooper flesh it out into a full length book. It has all the perfect character tropes; nosy/mean neighbor, best friend who runs a cupcake story, rancher father who is rough, but sweet, rancher brother who likes to give his brother a hard time, and super hot hero/lover.

Cooper emphasized having, Decker, the love interest, calling Ella little girl and other words opposite of large/big. Although Ella, who is plus sized, felt as if Decker needed to get his eyes checked, she also really liked it.

It was nice seeing a person who feels uncomfortable in her body find someone who can start helping her feel better about it.

Super short review for a super short book. If you’re looking for a feel good read where love conquers all, and very quickly, then this one is for you.
